Description of ie duties, clients, objectives of the role

• To work in a team to develop Digital Assets and this may include the following technologies; HTML, Flash, FlashLite, Adobe AIR, CSS, Javascript, XML, Actionscript 2 and Actionscript 3
• To support maintenance activities of digital assets in a team which may include the usage of Content Management Systems
• To work together closely with the Project Management team, Creative team as well as the Account Servicing Team in development and maintenance projects

Key Role Requirements

Profile: Positive working attitude, able to work alone and as a team, good problem solving skills, good communication skills, hardworking

Experience: 2 years and candidates must have good academic results. B and above for core subjects.

Skills: HTML, XHTML, XML, Javascript, Flash, FlashLite, CSS, JQuery.

Optional: AJAX, Flex

It was fun.

Craig shared his story of fighting against cheaters and it was eye opening. There are lots of cheaters out there and it’s impossible to fight against them with technology alone. The best solution he provided is to track every action of the player and moderate it if the score is too high or suspicious.

For the presentation on Box2D, you can download the slides and source code here. Craig also mentioned CDK(Collision Detection Kit), a much easier package for collision handling, which makes much more sense to designers. Happy exploring!

The UI Artist should have a good understanding of Flash & web design, and to demonstrate a broad range of skills and abilities including core graphic design competencies. The next meeting for A-SFUG is coming up on Saturday June 27th, 11am at the Ogilvy Centre.

Truly excited about Ari’s (http://pericraft.com) idea, we are going to have a special meeting this month. The focus of the meeting is “How Stuff Works”.

Basically it’s about bringing up your questions and discuss them together. Things like, how to do Augmented Reality (we’ve already covered that), how to do Yugop’s running text or, most frequently, how did they do this (or that you discovered during random browsing)?

If you see something interesting but can’t figure out how it works, share with us and hopefully, we can nail the solution.

Please post your questions on the Facebook event page and we’ll cover them during the meeting. If you are shy, you can also ask during the actual meeting.

You will develop interactive elements, including web pages, flash objects, or any rich media content for various touchpoints. Additionally, you will provide leadership in the use of Flash technology and mentor junior developers on the team.. You work closely with creative team to deliver cutting edge rich media solutions for our clients.

Responsibilities:

• Ability to mentor junior team members
• Apply your visual design skills to create dynamic and complex Flash Designs.
• Involvement in the conceptual phase of projects. Work closely with creative lead, IA, Content Strategist and front-end developer to deliver-media rich client solutions.
• Understanding of Video codec’s and advanced video encoding options in Flash.
• Understanding of 3rd party implementations and extensions
• Active Flash, Flex, Developer Community involvement.
• Constant R&D on new technologies that will help The Upper Storey push the boundaries

Job Requirements:

• 5+ years of industry experience in ActionScript 2.0 or 3.0 for Flash applications integrated with server-side web applications and CMS
• ServerSide Scripting such as PHP or ASP
• Experience implementing OOP concepts with ActionScript
• XHTML / CSS (validating), DHTML (JQuery), AJAX
• Building integrated data-driven applications and sites that link to other third part apis such as facebook and open social
• Optimization of creative elements for varying bandwidth and platform requirements
• Strong written and oral communication skills
